There are so many things to consider when operating a home based business. But, I have to say the two most important ones are:

Setting aside the hours to dedicate and sticking to them, whether they are 2 or 3 in the evenings or 8 hours a day.

How will it affect your family? Family support is very important if you are to be successful in your home based business.

I can say this from experience, I have owned and operated a couple of home based businesses over the years as well as owned and operated store front complete with employees. It can be very stressful. Although it has been very rewarding. I have had the opportunity to instill in my children the spirit of entrepreneurship and they have now gone off into their own pursuits.

Today I enjoy marketing online as my home based business but, in the past I have fabricated custom window treatments from my garage, done upholstery work, sold cosmetics, sold jewelry, designed websites and a few other things.
