The Fresh Market on Dale Mabry and Fletcher, and the Publix Greenwise market in Hyde Park. The prices are about the same though.

Depends a lot on what kind of cheese your lookin for. I'm sure there are a few latin meat markets in town with a good selection, pretty sure the previosly commented on Rainbow Food mart on Howard has a selection. Castallano and Pizzo (spelling may be way off here) will certainly have a good selection. If you are lookin for goat cheese there is a gal who has a booth at both friday morning tampa street market and the St. Pete market. Thats all I've got goo d luck on the search.

Good question though I would be interested to find out if we had a specialty cheese shop in town. Please let the group know if you find anything worth while.

The woman who runs the goat cheese stand is here on Brand Tampa - Pam is "The Dancing Goat" She does all the markets around Tampa Bay and has a once a week pick-up where you can actually go to her farm and meet the goats.

I met her a few months back at the Ybor Market and blogged about her.

Mazzaro's in St. Pete ( 22nd St exit off 2-75) has a cheese room that's pretty solid. New Greenwise in South Tampa has some good stuff also.

I absolutely LOVE Mazzaro's...everything they have is fabulous!! Especially their cheese selection [and baked goods]!!

With the new Greenwise ( a foodie Disney World) We found some fabulous items--Irish Porter, unbelievable Parm.. Also believe or not at Sam's(!) right now there are some better than average offerings. Don't have a membership? Go in and tell then you're there for an eye appt or pharmacy ( they don't follow you to make sure) and then decide if you want to join for the bargains and/or cheese.
