Hey Sally! I'm actually putting on a small community production. It's written by me, performed by young local actors, and produced by The Studio@620. The best part? Proceeds go to charity!

To promote The Warrior Woman Organization's efforts to bring empowering writing to teens and at-risk youth.
How long have you lived here?
The Organization was born right here in the Tampa Bay!
What is your favorite thing about Tampa?
Its natural beauty of course and the diversity of its people. Also there is a vibrant arts community here and a cosmopolitan feel that is energizing and inspires creativity. The Tampa Bay is the perfect place to bring art and young people together.
What kinds of things are you involved in?
We are working on a variety of different projects to promote writing and Spoken Word in the Tampa Bay.
THE 36 SCHOOLS PROJECT
Who: High Schools
What: Pro-Bono Performance Poetry
When: January 2009 to January 2010
Why: Research shows that exposure to artistic programming results in higher GPAs and lower drop out rates.
Our Spoken Word Poets and Teaching Artists will travel into underfunded schools and bring empowering writing workshops to teens and at-risk youth. All educational institutions (this includes libraries, community centers that focus on education/tutoring, and more) are eligable.
THE SLAM IN THE SUMMER PROJECT
Who: The Warrior Woman & The YWCA of Tampa Bay
What: Week-Long Creative Summer Camp for Under-Privileged Teens
When: July 2009
Why: Without the focus of schools, it's all too easy for teens to get into trouble--we're here to offer a creative substitute for the summer doldrums.
The Warrior Woman, Inc. and the YWCA of Tampa Bay will bring affordable and creative summer camps to under-privileged teens in St. Petersburg and beyond.
LIZZ STRAIGHT MINISTRIES
Who: The Warrior Woman, Inc & Lizz Straight Ministries
What: Prison Tour
When: March 2009: Women's History Month
Why: We want to aid inmates' rehabilitation by offering them powerful and uplifting spoken word poetry events. Now, armed with talented artists, we will spend March traveling to prisions across the state of Florida performing powerful poetry . . . about women!
Tell us about what you do.
To bring teens & at-risk youth a means of artistic expression through empowering writing workshops. The Warrior Woman, Inc. is an charitable, non-profit organization comprised of Tampa Bay artists who are dedicated to bringing teens and at-risk youth a means of artistic expression through empowering writing workshops.
We believe that exposure to Spoken Word, which is relevant and appealing to teens, will not only encourage them to learn more about poetry, but will provide them with a valuable tool for artistic self-expression and a safe environment to explore their creativity.
Would you be interested in a fund raiser that costs absolutely nothing and be able to have your members help with the fund raiser? I represent ourgv program that provides a toolbar with your organizations name on the toolbar. Every search done on the toolbar by your membership pays 10 cents a search. There are 1500 stores in an online mall to shop and save, and for every dollar your members spend, your organization earns from their purchases. Are you interested, please visit the link
